Alzheimer's Awareness More than 5 million Americans live with Alzheimer’s but less than half are ever diagnosed. Close family members, who know their loved ones best, are typically the first to notice memory issues or cognitive problems, but they are often hesitant to say something – even when they know something is wrong. Drug-Impaired Driving Prevention Several states have legalized marijuana use, but driving impaired remains illegal everywhere. This new campaign underscores that if you feel different, you drive different, so don't drive after using marijuana. Wildfire Prevention In honor of Smokey Bear’s 75th birthday on August 9, 2019, the U.S.D.A. Forest Service, the National Association of State Foresters and the Ad Council have teamed up to celebrate the nation’s favorite bear. Shelter Pet Adoption The goal of "The Shelter Pet Project" campaign is to encourage millions of pet lovers to make shelters the first choice and desired way for acquiring companion animals, therefore helping all healthy and treatable pets find homes. Suicide Prevention 76% of young adults will turn to a peer in a time of crisis for support. Seize the Awkward aims to encourage and empower young adults to reach out to a friend who may be struggling with their mental health. High Blood Pressure Control New PSAs encourage people to talk with their doctor to create or evolve their high blood pressure treatment plan. Saving for Retirement 2 in 5 households headed by Americans age 55-64 have no assets saved for retirement. To help address this savings shortfall, our Saving for Retirement campaign empowers people to take control of their financial futures. Lung Cancer Screening To build public awareness of lung cancer, the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative has partnered with the Ad Council and ad agency Hill Holliday to launch the first national public service advertising (PSA) campaign to educate Americans about a lung cancer screening for those at high risk. Texting and Driving Prevention Texting and driving is dangerous – that is a fact. Americans are highly aware of and concerned about the issue. More than nine in ten Americans believe sending (94%) and reading (91%) texts while driving is dangerous or very dangerous. Diversity & Inclusion Research has showed us that there is one moment where biases are eroded and we see incredible stories of people coming together—in times of disaster. These moments of togetherness show that we all have an inherent desire for inclusion & connection. Bias, society & social norms prevent us from acting like we do in disaster, every day. In reality, we are all skeletons with an innate capacity for love. Our Impact AdoptUSKids | www.AdoptUSKids.org 30,000 children once photo-listed on AdoptUSKids.org adopted since the campaign launch in 2004 This campaign raises awareness of adoption of children from foster care and drives prospective parents to AdoptUSKids.org to learn more and start the adoption process. Since the campaign launched in 2004, more than 37,600 families have registered to adopt.
